Spun from a neutral cream yarn sourced from Denmark, bouclé is a heavy fabric made up of little loops which gives your Barney Bed a cloud-like appearance and beautiful, textured feel. Machine washable with luxe gold outer YKK zipper this cover is the perfect way to elevate your dog’s bed to fit the interiors of your home. The non-skid base is designed to keep your pup safe and crucial for dogs who suffer from joint pain.

How do I fit the cover on my Barney Bed?
There are two types of Barney Bed Covers; Zip Covers and Slip-On Covers.
Zip Covers replace your original Barney Bed cover and create a fitted look. You need to remove the memory foam mattress and chin rests from the original cover and reinsert them into the new cover. Check out our video tutorial to help fit your Zip Cover here.
Slip-On Covers slip over your Barney Bed’s original cover like a fitted sheet and create a relaxed look. The elastic base on the cover makes popping your cover on and off easy so, washing your Barney Bed cover is simpler than ever. Check out our video tutorial to help fit your Slip-On Cover here.
Are the covers waterproof?
No, our covers are not waterproof as we designed them to be as comfy and soft as possible and waterproof materials are not often comfy to the touch. We have, however, designed the covers to be super easy to remove and wash whenever needed.
We created the Waterproof Lining Kit which you can fit over the memory foam pieces inside your Barney Bed - just like your own mattress protector, which will fully protect your Barney Bed from water/pee accidents. Our Original Barney Bed comes with a Water-Resistant Lining, and the Waterproof Lining Kit can be purchased separately here. Our BarneyCurl Bed comes with the Waterproof Lining Kit included.
Can I get the Barney Bed with a different cover?
The Barney Bed is sold in its original gray cover. Any additional covers are sold separately.
I fit the cover on my bed, why doesn’t it look fitted like the photos online?
Sounds like you have a cover with a zip! The original cover needs to be fully removed before you attempt to fit the new cover. To do this, remove the memory foam mattress and chin rests from the original gray cover and reinsert them into the new cover. Please watch this video for step-by-step instructions.

Hank is loving the Large Barney Bed. Although he’s a Great Dane X we decided on the Large bed, when I took him in for a test drive. He loves to curl up tight to sleep during the night but also stretches out with his head resting on the side bolster, during the day. Hank is now a senior dog so he beads support and comfort. He’s living his new bed!!

The cover is beautiful but when ordering the bed it comes with a cover and then you pay for this extra cover. Kinda expensive and wish the bed just came with whatever cover you ordered
We are glad to hear that you find it beautiful. We understand your concern about the additional cost for the extra cover. We only sell the Barney Bed with the Original Grey Cover, and the Bouclé Cover can be bought separately. Any of our other covers are an added luxury to your Barney Bed
The Bouclé Cover always ships separately from the beds for a few reasons. The bouclé fabric cannot be compressed without damaging the texture of the material. The beds come rolled and vacuum sealed, which is the most economical and easiest way to ship and receive these beds. It makes unboxing super simple as they are preassembled, and it allows us to offer free shipping in boxes that are less than a quarter of the size as when fully expanded.
The cover is meant to last alongside the bed.
