The idea for this cover came to me while on holiday on the Eastern Australian Coast last summer. Our Samoyeds - Barney and Chibby were swimming all day and coming home to sleep in their Barney beds soaking wet. This is the cover I wished we had to help dry the dogs. Forget the mad chase after your dog with a towel - post bath, swim or a walk in the rain! About the Barney Covers
- How do I fit the cover on my Barney Bed?
There are two types of Barney Bed Covers; Zip Covers and Slip-On Covers.
Zip Covers replace your original Barney Bed cover and create a fitted look. You need to remove the memory foam mattress and chin rests from the original cover and reinsert them into the new cover. Check out our video tutorial to help fit your Zip Cover here.
Slip-On Covers slip over your Barney Bed’s original cover like a fitted sheet and create a relaxed look. The elastic base on the cover makes popping your cover on and off easy so, washing your Barney Bed cover is simpler than ever. Check out our video tutorial to help fit your Slip-On Cover here.
- Is the cover waterproof?
No, our covers are not waterproof as we designed them to be as comfy and soft as possible and waterproof materials are not often comfy to the touch. We have, however, designed the covers to be super easy to remove and wash whenever needed. We created the Waterproof lining Kit which you can fit over the interior of your Barney Bed- just like your own mattress protector, which will fully protect your Barney Bed from water/pee accidents.
- Are there any other colors?
The Barney Bed is sold in its gray colorway cover and the Barney Signature Bed and BarneyCurl Beds are sold in the Bone colorway cover. All additional covers are sold separately.
- I already have a bed. Do you sell just the covers?
Yes! Please choose the same size cover as your Original Barney Bed. Our covers are specifically designed to only fit the Barney Bed. You can check your bed size on the tag inside your cover or if you have any questions about the bed size you ordered, please send an email to hello@barneybed.com and we’ll be happy to look up your order.
- I fit my zip cover on my bed, why doesn’t it look fitted like the photos online?
This is because your original cover needs to be fully removed, and the memory foam inserts need to be inserted into your zip cover. Our zip covers (Bouclé Cover, Teddy Covers, Arthur-Itis Cover, Jet Black Covers) are a replacement for the original cover and are not intended to be fitted over the cover.
Care Instructions
Our Slip Covers are designed to fit on and off your Barney Bed super easily, which makes washing a breeze! To wash, simply take the cover off your Barney Bed and wash on a warm, gentle machine wash. Do not use bleach or any harsh chemicals. Wash with similar colors. Tumble dry on low heat.
Although the Barneycles Covers are strong, we do not recommend it for dogs that heavily scratch or bite their bed. The ‘polyps’ on the Barneycles Cover may rip if your dog heavily scratches or bites them off.

Shipping
*Free shipping for orders over $300 applies to the contiguous US only (excludes Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US territories). Beds in sizes S, M, L and LP always ship free in the contiguous US. XL and XXL beds are oversized items: delivery is $79 per XL bed and $99 per XXL bed. Zip covers, Barneycles Towel Covers, Butter Slip Covers, Furfy and spare foam parts ship in their own parcel, which has its own delivery fee: $19.95 per order, whatever the order total. Everything else ships free on orders over $300; on orders under $300, its shipping fee is $14.95.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US territories have their own delivery prices, listed on our Shipping page and shown at checkout. Orders to them usually arrive 5 to 10 business days after dispatch, sometimes more.
We also offer international shipping to Canada & Mexico, with delivery prices listed on our Shipping page and shown at checkout. Canada and Mexico orders usually arrive 5 to 10 business days after you order. Please note duties and taxes may apply for orders destined to Canada and Mexico.
All in-stock items are typically dispatched within 2 business days outside of sale periods and usually arrive within 2–5 business days after dispatch, depending on your location. We use UPS and FedEx for all our orders. Please note: During sale periods, dispatch times may be delayed by up to 10 business days due to high order volumes. Warranty
We offer a 12‑month warranty on covers against manufacturing defects only. This warranty applies to defects due to faulty workmanship or materials. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damages due to rough dog use, which includes but is not limited to; excessive scratching, biting, chewing, digging. Returns & Exchanges
Change-of-mind returns must be requested within 14 days of the delivery date. The cover must be unused, free from dog hair and in brand-new condition to be eligible for a refund or exchange.
