Our Signature Barney Bed in Bone has been redesigned and now comes pre-fitted with the Waterproof Lining Kit. You only need to purchase this kit with our Signature Bed in Bone if you need to replace the kit or wish to have a spare.
If you have one of our Original Gray Beds, the lining inside your Barney Bed is water-resistant but does not protect against bedwetting or big water spills. Add this waterproof lining kit to make it 100% waterproof, featuring a soft terry towel top layer and a polyurethane waterproof layer. Simply replace your current Barney Bed inner lining with this waterproof lining and add your chosen Barney Cover on top.
About the Barney Covers
- How do I fit the cover on my Barney Bed?
There are two types of Barney Bed Covers; Zip Covers and Slip-On Covers.
Zip Covers replace your original Barney Bed cover and create a fitted look. You need to remove the memory foam mattress and chin rests from the original cover and reinsert them into the new cover. Check out our video tutorial to help fit your Zip Cover here.
Slip-On Covers slip over your Barney Bed’s original cover like a fitted sheet and create a relaxed look. The elastic base on the cover makes popping your cover on and off easy so, washing your Barney Bed cover is simpler than ever. Check out our video tutorial to help fit your Slip-On Cover here.
- Is the cover waterproof?
No, our covers are not waterproof as we designed them to be as comfy and soft as possible and waterproof materials are not often comfy to the touch. We have, however, designed the covers to be super easy to remove and wash whenever needed. We created the Waterproof lining Kit which you can fit over the interior of your Barney Bed- just like your own mattress protector, which will fully protect your Barney Bed from water/pee accidents.
- Are there any other colors?
The Barney Bed is sold in its gray colorway cover and the Barney Signature Bed and BarneyCurl Beds are sold in the Bone colorway cover. All additional covers are sold separately.
- I already have a bed. Do you sell just the covers?
Yes! Please choose the same size cover as your Original Barney Bed. Our covers are specifically designed to only fit the Barney Bed. You can check your bed size on the tag inside your cover or if you have any questions about the bed size you ordered, please send an email to hello@barneybed.com and we’ll be happy to look up your order.
- I fit my zip cover on my bed, why doesn’t it look fitted like the photos online?
This is because your original cover needs to be fully removed, and the memory foam inserts need to be inserted into your zip cover. Our zip covers (Bouclé Cover, Teddy Covers, Arthur-Itis Cover, Jet Black Covers) are a replacement for the original cover and are not intended to be fitted over the cover.
Care Instructions
To wash your Waterproof Lining Kit, unzip each waterproof casing and remove the foam. Simply wipe down the kit with a damp cloth and mild detergent. If necessary, wash the kit on a cold, gentle machine wash. Do not use bleach or any harsh chemicals. Wash with similar colors. Air dry the kit in the shade. Do not tumble dry. Ensure the kit is completely dry before fitting back on your bed.

*Free shipping for orders over $300 applies to the contiguous US only (excludes Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US territories). Beds in sizes S, M, L and LP always ship free in the contiguous US. XL and XXL beds are oversized items: delivery is $79 per XL bed and $99 per XXL bed. Zip covers, Barneycles Towel Covers, Butter Slip Covers, Furfy and spare foam parts ship in their own parcel, which has its own delivery fee: $19.95 per order, whatever the order total. Everything else ships free on orders over $300; on orders under $300, its shipping fee is $14.95.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US territories have their own delivery prices, listed on our Shipping page and shown at checkout. Orders to them usually arrive 5 to 10 business days after dispatch, sometimes more.
We also offer international shipping to Canada & Mexico, with delivery prices listed on our Shipping page and shown at checkout. Canada and Mexico orders usually arrive 5 to 10 business days after you order. Please note duties and taxes may apply for orders destined to Canada and Mexico.
All in-stock items are typically dispatched within 2 business days outside of sale periods and usually arrive within 2–5 business days after dispatch, depending on your location. We use UPS and FedEx for all our orders. Please note: During sale periods, dispatch times may be delayed by up to 10 business days due to high order volumes. Warranty
We offer a 12‑month warranty on Waterproof Lining Kits against manufacturing defects only. This warranty applies to defects due to faulty workmanship or materials. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damages due to rough dog use, which includes but is not limited to; excessive scratching, biting, chewing, digging. Returns & Exchanges
Change-of-mind returns must be requested within 14 days of the delivery date. The Waterproof Lining Kit must be unused, free from dog hair and in brand-new condition to be eligible for a refund or exchange.
